So here we are, less than 2 months to the election, and one of the hot topics less than 2 years ago has mysteriously disappeared: Illegal immigration. Now I know, many people will say that the war in Iraq, spiking oil prices, or the economy are higher priorities, but are they really?
We have an estimated 12 million people here illegally — people from nearly 50 different countries. The problem is that with most illegal immigrants, they would have rectified their immigration issues, if they had the money. The fact that they do not have the cash to do this also shows they don’t have the money to do other things, like contribute to healthcare insurance premiums, educational fees, taxes, and so on.
Let’s put this in perspective. The US population is estimated at 300 million. If there are 12 million people here illegally, then that is one illegal for every 25 citizens. In order to pay for the services that they have been granted by our politicians, the other 24 people must chip in. With many people feeling the pinch at the pump, or watching the deficit skyrocket, is it a stretch at all to look to your illegal people as a source of this financial distress? With people losing higher paying jobs, they’re going to have to settle for lower-paying ones. With these lower-paying jobs already taken, we then have to put these people on state assistance… costing more money. Anyone else see where I’m going?
Vote out the bums who continue to allow this situation. Report the companies that are hiring these people. Alert the authorities when you know there is someone who is here illegally right away. No matter how much your bills, or taxes, they are made higher by these criminal entrants into our land.

[...] infuriated me that we have nearly forgotten, is illegal immigration which I spoke briefly about in an earlier blog. This is simply defined as someone who has not followed proper channels, and has broken the law [...]
Did you know that many welfare recipients are here illegally? Or how about the fact that due to many of the low-paid jobs being gobbled up by illegals (and the scumbags that knowingly hire them) force people to ask for state/federal assistance? Who pays for this? The illegals, making up about 4% of our population who don’t contribute to the taxes, or the 96% of the population that does? Even in your top 3, a fall-off related to the overburdening of our system due to the weight of the illegals on our backs.
Billions and billions of dollars are either lost, or coughed up by the regular taxpayers in order to support the illegals here through welfare programs, state/federal services, and even local services like schools which receive funds from outside of the municipality. This causes a snowball effect which magnifies the effects of other problems. To ignore a correctable problem because there are others is short-sighted. This problem HAS to be fixed.
I don’t dispute any of your points loudelf. Its just the fact that most people have less in the their wallet is down to alot of other factors and while illegal immigration contributes to that, it’s not the main cause.
I am not a big fan of Micheal Moore but I think he pretty much nailed the reason you pay so much in insurance and get so little back in the docuflick sicko.
Your insurance costs you so much because you are being mugged by the HMo’s and government every month.
If you want a list of people who are bleeding you dry … I can start you off
1) Banks
2) Government
3) lifelong welface check recipients.
illegals come some way down the list.
Again, I am not saying you are wrong here, I just don’t want to see illegals get blamed while the real culprits get away scott free.
“But the economic woes of the dollar have practically nothing to do with illegal immigration”
When these illegals, who almost to a person do not have health insurance use the health facilities, it drive insurance rates up for those who have it, and the bill for the government for the rest, thus hitting the tax payers in the wallet. What about the educational system? If they are not paying in to the tax system, but their kids are going to the schools, they are forcing those who are (those legally here) to pick up the tab.
Xenophobia is fearing those from the foreign land. I have no fear of foreigners, only the criminals who break our laws, and thereby cause me to have to work harder so they can have my money.
Thats the type of xenophobia you can only get when people run out of money
I am not saying that illegals are ok or not an important topic, it is. But the economic woes of the dollar have practically nothing to do with illegal immigration, and to suggest they do means the real criminals of this adventure are one step closer to getting away with it.
