Wake up America! Stop being had by the people you put to work!

So I’m reading through one of the blogs on my Blogroll (America’s Watchtower), and he writes a quick article touching on Chris Dodd’s refinancing of his loans, which were at a much lower rate than the general public has, and serves on the Senate Banking Committee. This reminded me also that not only did Dodd receive special treatment for his loans, but that Countrywide, who gave him the loans, also has contributed $21k to his campaigns, and the company that bought them – Bank of America — gave him $70k. This is also the guy that has received more than any other elected official from Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac (quasi government institutions… conflict?). Additionally, Dodd received more from accounting firm Arthur Andersen than any other Democrat and may have responsibility for trying to shield accounting firms from investor fraud liability in cases such as the Enron scandal. If not criminal, then highly unethical…

Rhode Island Moderate Party One Step Closer To Fair Game

Using data from the 2006 elections, Rhode Island’s signature petition burden relative to the population of the state is 1.75% (18,500 / 1,057,000). The average signature burden relative to overall population (again using 2006 data) across all states that have laws allowing petitioning for ballot access is 0.54%.
