Mr. President,
We are facing a financial crisis of epic proportions, and you Mr. President is worried about healthcare?! FOCUS, Mr. President. When you have a breakdown like this, you need to focus on the root causes and rectify the situation right away. Right now, fixing the mortgage crisis will stop the bleeding, and allow banks to lend again, people to invest and buy, and the markets (which 2/3 of Americans are effected by) to rebound. THEN, you can focus on other areas you feel to be important.
We just saw a stimulus bill with at best most of it being a terrible ROI, and at worst full of pork. Now we have an Omnibus Spending bill full of billions of dollars of pork that not only addresses your pet projects, but also that of congress, and still doesn’t include all of the departments. At what time do you stand up to your promise to veto pork? At what time to do you first address the earth-shattering issues before playing with your pet projects?
Your chief of staff recently said “Rule one: Never allow a crisis to go to waste”. It is apparent to me, as well as an increasing number of Americans, that you are doing just that – using our economic crisis to slide in all sorts of other projects while we are distracted.
We The People have been stupid enough to elect you, and hundreds of others from multiple parties in the past elections. Don’t count on The People to repeat this mistake as you obviously try to persuade us to change our path from the most successful and powerful country in the world, to your vision (not sure what that is). Here’s an even better idea: Prove The People to be intelligent by upholding campaign promises, and accomplishing success by achieving the focused goal of fixing this recession. Please?
