Let’s call “reverse discrimination” what it is, shall we?

1152989430csM6r2Discrimination is treatment or consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on the group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs rather than on individual merit, according to the dictionary.

Therefore reverse discrimination would be the opposite right?  The treatment or consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on individual merit.  Right?

So in this, wouldn’t the case of the New Haven Firefighters, be a case of discrimination,   not reverse discrimination?  So can we call it what it was?  Discrimination?

Since the American way is to make distinction in favor or against based on merit, can we stop with the discrimination?  I don’t care what color someone is, the bottom line is can he/she do the job, and better than the next person.  If so, that is who gets the job, and is most certainly not excluded from it due to this.

So let’s stop calling things by different names because we don’t like the sound.  It’s discrimination.  Let’s not do it, and move on.

  1. Amen…discrimination

  2. Totally agree, there is no doubt in my mind that this was a case of discrimination.
